Admissions - Documentation
A. Application form

An application for admission to the University of North America may be made on the official Application for Admission form available [here]

Prospective students are encouraged to contact an admissions counselor for assistance or any additional questions.

Please download the Application form found in the download section located on the left hand side of the webpage home.

B. Transfer credit evaluation form

Student credits that are earned outside of the U.S. may be transferable to the University of North America. Beyond the need to have that institution recognized by an accrediting agency in that country, the prospective applicant may need to have their transcripts evaluated by an external agency to determine acceptable transfer credit. The Admissions Office will need to be provided one copy of that evaluation before a decision regarding acceptance is rendered.

The prospective student may want to consider one of the following agencies - which are independent and not affiliated with the University - for credit transfer evaluation:

C. Application fee
A non-refundable application fee of $100.00 (check or money order payable to the "University of North America" in U.S. currency) is required for all degree-seeking and non-degree seeking students. No application will be processed until the necessary fees are paid.
D. Transcripts
The Office of Admissions requires two official transcripts from every college or university attended, one translated into English and one in the native language. Transcripts may include any additional legend that will assist in their evaluation. To insure acceptance of transcripts as official, please make sure the University Registrar verifies the transcripts with their official signature and university seals or insure that the transcripts are notarized as a "true copy of the original" by a Notary Public. The official transcripts need to be placed in university sealed envelopes with the university stamp affixed to the envelope and sent directly to the Office of Admissions.

Office of Admissions, of the University of North America will accommodate and accept documents from international applicants who personally submit or mail official transcripts in the sealed envelope/s directly to the Office of Admissions.

If the official transcripts are issued as one copy only, the Office of Admissions will accept those transcripts/diplomas notarized "as a true copy of the original" by a Notary Public in the U.S. or a legal entity from the prospective student's native country authorized to certify and annotate documents to be "a true copy of the original". Notarization must be in English.

E. English Language Standards
Candidates whose undergraduate degree was completed in a language other than English must submit their English language supporting test documentation as a part of their admissions materials.

To enter the graduate program at the University of North America without English requirement conditions on their admission, students must satisfy one of the following criteria:

  • Internet based TOEFL-IBT score of 79
  • Computer based TOEFL score of 213
  • Paper based TOEFL score of 550
  • IELTS score of 6.5

All international applicants and U.S. citizens/permanent residents whose native language is not English must meet proficiency requirements in the English language. Native speakers of English are exempted from taking the TOEFL or the IELTS.

The TOEFL or IELTS requirements may be waived if an applicant already possesses a bachelor's or master's degree from a university located in the United States or in another English speaking country provided the 4 year bachelor's degree was completed in English as a medium of instruction.

For TOEFL testing, contact the Brydon English Language Institute for information regarding test dates, fees and other information associated with your English language needs. For IELTS testing dates, fees and other information please go this web site: http://www.ielts.org.

The Institutional codes are:

UoNA: 4270
BELI:  2980

F. Visa requirements
Most questions related to VISA requirements are addressed in FAQ's located on the main webpage for the university. Please call or email the admissions office or Designated School Official (DSO) if there are any unresolved questions that require clarification.

II of the form.  Once the form is complete, return it to the PDSO or DSO at UoNA to receive your new Form I-20.

H. Letter of recommendation
Two letters of recommendation are required of all students applying to graduate school at the University of North America. Letters of recommendation will only be accepted from the following: prior employers, current employers, professors; and professional colleagues. The letters must be original and have the name, address and contact telephone number / email address of the author clearly identified. Certain conditions may dictate the use of photo-copies but only with relevant contact information provided and the approval of the Admissions Director.
I. Personal Statement
The candidate's must submit a personal statement of his or her reason for pursuing graduate studies, the reason for selecting this particular program, and how the candidate's background has prepared the applicant for success in the program and the business world after graduation.
J. GRE / GMAT
The results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and Management Admissions Test (GMAT) are not required for admission to the program. The candidate may, however, wish to submit such scores in support of his or her application.
K. Health insurance
All students are required to have and maintain a health insurance plan while enrolled. To meet the needs and concerns of students, the University of North America has set up a health insurance plan that is available to ALL students. The program is mandatory for all students attending the university and the costs will be paid by the student prior to registering for their classes. Proof of payment must be obtained otherwise the student will NOT be permitted to register for the subsequent term. So please ensure that your health insurance is current and valid. [click here] to apply and fill out health insurance application

If students already have medical insurance from some other source, they may wish to have the insurance waived. If so, they must present proof of comparable insurance to the Office of Admissions prior to enrollment to be allowed to register.
