Today the University of North America signed a dual degree
agreement with American College of Commerce and Technology (ACCT),
located in Falls Church, Virginia. UoNA and ACCT students will have the
option to receive degrees from both universities for the same program.
The signing was held at UoNA’s campus. UoNA has previously established
an academic partnership with ACCT through an articulation agreement
whereby each university agrees to accept the credits of the other.
Through this new arrangement a degree awarded through the University of
North America in a program also offered at ACCT will provide a student
an opportunity to obtain a second degree from ACCT and vice versa. ACCT
is a newly formed college offering Associate, Bachelor and Master
degrees. The dual degree agreement between UoNA and ACCT covers the
same Master degree programs offered at both universities; Master of
Business Administration, Master of Science in Information Technology and
Master of Science in Computer Science.
Commencement
Oct 03, 2010
On October 3, 2010, the University of North
America celebrated its first commencement exercises. This day is a major accomplishment for a university and
establishes it as full member of the academic community.
The university is proud that this first
graduating class demonstrates the international sweep of the university:
our graduates hailed from nations on three different continents – Mali
in Africa, Pakistan in Asia, and the United States in North America.
The curriculum that the graduates completed is
the most recent anywhere.It is
international in scope and applied in focus. The university has developed a future-oriented curriculum that
merges the latest theories with the most recent applications. This is made even more real through the university’s Cooperative
Education Porgram that offers Curricular practical Training (CPT) and
Optional Practical Training (OPT) to studentsThe university’s professors all have advanced graduate degrees
and real-world experience that lends richness to their teaching. The curriculum the graduates completed has prepared them for not
only their first job but their second as well.
To accommodate the university’s growth, we have relocated our Main
Campus to a larger and even more convenient facility.
This location houses the administrative offices and some classrooms and
computer labs.Located at the intersection of
Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Gallows Road, the new campus offers easy
access and ample free parking.Nearby are the Tysons
Corner shopping mall and two forthcoming Metro stops.

Dulles Rail Project Moving Toward March Construction Start
December 15, 2008
Pre-Construction Work To Begin Along Route 123 in Tysons Corner.
Beginning the week of December 15, those who live, work, and shop in Tysons Corner will begin to see the start of work along Route 123 in preparation for construction of Phase 1 of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project. The work will take place on land bounded by International Drive and Tysons Boulevard, and by Route 123 and Galleria Place. The site will be cleared of existing brush and vegetation to make way for construction trailers, utility relocation work, and the start of the easternmost section of a 2,100-foot tunnel that will run below the intersection of Routes 7 and 123. This is the highest natural point in Fairfax County. Existing trees will be retained along the perimeter of the property. Some of the trees may have to be removed during future construction of the tunnel. This work will be another step as the Dulles Metrorail Project moves forward. The Federal Transit Administration and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, the manager of the Metrorail Project, have approved this work to be performed by Dulles Transit Partners and their subcontractors.
