| TOEFL-IBT
Test Preparation |
Brydon English Language Institute's TOEFL-IBT preparation course
of study is structured to meet the requirements of the internet-based
test. The purpose of the course is to help non-native English speakers
in using and understanding the English language as it is spoken,
written, and heard in a college and university setting. This course
evaluates and prepares students so that they can integrate the core
language skills. Overall, the training provides an interactive learning
environment and helps students reduce test anxiety. This course
provides the opportunity for non-native English speaking professionals
or students to practice for the TOEFL-IBT test.
BELI provides two levels; intensive and semi-intensive. The intensive
course is for full-time students consisting of 20 hours of instruction
per week. The semi-intensive course consists of eight instructional
hours per week. Both preparation courses include reading, writing,
listening, speaking and grammar/vocabulary development. Instructors
lead students through each module using text books and materials
that best fit the needs of the students. Students have the opportunity
to thoroughly cover four language skills. The course books and instructions
mirror the actual TOEFL-IBT test. The texts used for the TOEFL-IBT
test preparation will provide
- Step-by-step guidance
- Test taking strategies
- Extensive practice in all four language skills

| TOEFL Accelerator Web Based Tool |
|
The TOEFL Accelerator classroom
tool provides supplemental online preparation for the TOEFL test and helps
teachers target instruction to a student’s English –language proficiency level.
Designed for use in an instructor-led environment, the TOEFL Accelerator tool includes classroom
management tools that help teachers set up sessions, manage assignments and
view score reports that can be shared with students. This package includes two
complete TOEFL IBT TM tests
that are composed of previously administered TOEFL IBT tests and three additional complete tests separated into skill sets for
listening, reading, speaking, and writing. A teacher can administer one of the
full tests at the beginning of a course, assign the skill sets for practice and
skill development during the course, and administer the second full test at the
end of the course. Teachers can get scores for students’ reading, listening and
writing responses instantly. Speaking responses are scored by ETS-certified raters within 7 business days.
Students receive individual feedback at the end of each practice test.
