All students are given a comprehensive English Placement Test (EPT) upon their arrival. The
placement test assesses the English language proficiency of students who are
applying to any of the ESL courses of study.
The EPT is conducted in-house and is administered by the English language
institute. This test is used to place students into the appropriate proficiency
level. The Placement Test takes approximately two and a half hours to
administer. The placement test will assess the following skills: reading,
writing, vocabulary, grammar, listening and speaking. Results of the test will
determine the level in which the student will be placed. There will be a $25.00
fee for placement testing. All students will be placed to the appropriate level
depending on the placement test score chart.
The reading, listening, vocabulary and grammar sections consist of 100 multiple
choice questions which approximately take one and a half hours to complete. In
addition to the 90 minute multiple choice test, students are also given a 30 minute
writing assessment and 15 minute face-to-face interview.
